Eggie232
I'm already the proud owner of a Cube but am on the verge of ordering an additional smaller house for my teeniest Ex-Batt (Belina) whilst she builds up her strength. After much deliberation about models and colours, I phoned Omlet today to order a Classic, only to be pretty much talked out of it by the Omlet rep!!! He basically said that the Go is a much better model, less heavy, easier to access and clean than the Classic. He also said that the lid of the Classic is heavy and clumbersome to lift. Confused and unsure, I didn't place my order in the end and so am now back to square one with my decision making! Can anyone help nudge me in the right direction? Thanks guys! Plum
I'd look at the colours and let that make your choice but this will probably help you more viewtopic.php?f=4&t=62863
Redwing
I like the classic, I am not very tall and not at all nimble but manage the lid just fine
Ms Tilytinkle
Classic every time, if you have the space I just love the shape of it, love the curves as opposed to the more angular shape of the Go. In fact I just love everything about the Classic much more, everything from the way it looks to how it works & feels but ultimately its personal preference & what best suits your needs . Chook n Boo Mum
I'd go for the Classic personally, though I've never seen the Go in "person", it just doesn't look as thought it would be as well insulated as the classic, I like the fact you can open the egg port & not have all the chooks escape out the back and the shape isn't so.........well........classic Having just bought my latest (4th!) pre-loved classic in purple, maybe I'm a little bit biased Maybe he's on an extra commission to sell the Go...does anyone know if they are selling as well as expected If you had set your heart on the Classic, then go for it...you have to live with it after all Sha x
karlotta
I own both and both are excellent. For a wobbly batt (or if you are ever considering hatching) I'd recommend the Go as the flat bars are easier for them to cope with. Otherwise go with whichever you like the look of! migsy
I have got a Go and I need a new coup to house some ex bats but this time I'm going for a Classic. One reason is the look of the classic but the other reason is that I use woodchip in the next box and in the Go the next box is very shallow. The chooks just kick it all out and make a mess with it. The result is loads of woodchip in the droppings tray and hardly any in the nest box so I have to top it up every day. The classic seems to have a deeper next box. I also like the idea that you can lift the lid up on the Classic to make for easier cleaning rather than squatting down to reach into the Go from the back. Hope this helps. Bertrum
While the lid of the Classic is much heavier than I expected, I'd hardly call it difficult to lift. I would look at the set up instructions for both before you decide. One looks far simpler than the other and that made my decision for me. PurpleTree
I'd go for the Classic. I just prefer it to the Go, I didn't like that there's no egg port door on the Go, meaning you have to open up the whole back to get any eggs out. Also the cover on the Classic is heavy-ish, but I can still manage it on my own, even though I'm heavily pregnant
Eggie232
Just want to say thanks to you all for the advice, it's been really helpful in making my decision. Have ordered a Classic! Can't wait! My little princess will love it!
