a egg thief on the loose !!!!!!

Recommended Posts

well i went to visit my dad yesterday who lives up the other end of the village and was moanin that id only had one egg from my 6 girls last sat . at that moment my older sister started smirking (she lives 4 doors up from me ) so i asked her if she had seen anyone going in to my garden . at that point she couldnt contain herself any longer and burst out laughing ,i started shouting at her that it wasnt funny if someone had been in my garden stealing eggs ,and how would she feel if someone came in to her garden and started digging up her veg patch .

whilst rolling round on the floor between gasps she admitted that i wasnt in and she wanted a fry up so had helped herself out of the cube for thier breakfast ,she said she didnt see tho point of walking down to the shop for 2 week old eggs when she could walk 4 doors down and have fresh ones

the cheek of her ,does anyone want a older sister she comes with 2 kids and a old man and is free to a good home

 How very dare she! I'd have been furious as well.

I think that if it happened again, I might just mention that it was such a shame I couldn't use the eggs at the moment, but I'd just dosed the chickens with a really toxic worming solution that works for them, but has serious side-effects for humans ....

I've had to get a padlock for my walk in run. I've been having 0 eggs for WEEKS now, but the hens are fine, but i went into the walk in run in the morning to find the feed bins tipped over, food everywhere hosepipe running, ALL the coop doors shut (i got back quite late, i left the girls to go in by themselves.) there was a mountain of feathers and blanche was in EFFY AND THE CHICKS coop wanting to get out. So someone had obviously got into the coop.

So sorry for the rant..

To be honest - if my sister did that I'd be in hysterics as well! However, my sister probably wouldn't tell me for 20 years - like she didn't tell me she accidentally pulled the tail off my gerbil when we were kids - until a couple of years ago! Fortunately the gerbil survived with a stump - but I spent 20+ years thinking it was the other gerbil or cat that did it!

At the moment I wish it was my sister to blame for my lack of eggs!
