Changing brand of food - fussy?

Recommended Posts

I'd ordered a 20kg bag of Smallholder Growers pellets from FSF - the girls are used to this and love it. I've been sent, in error, their Organic Growers pellets. Is it a big deal to change their food - I don't have much of the Smallholders left to do a gradual change? I wonder if I should ask FSF to exchange what they've sent - in a way I'm loathe to open it incase the girls hate it. :anxious:

What'll I do folks? Take my chances and feed it to the chooks or ask FSF to change? It's been a niggly order as the tub of mixed grit was burst when it arrived which is really irritating me ... I've nothing to decant it into and it's spilling everywhere. It was sent in a polythene bag which seems ludicrous - a box would have offered better protection. I normally find FSF great - I guess it's just one of those days.

Anyway, I guess the main question is the food question!! :D

Thanks

Isabel

I'd probably call your supplier and ask about turnaround times - have you got enough food to last? If it was me I'd probably send it back unless you know somebody that you could do some sort of swap with if your girls didn't like it (or use it to pay for a favour etc). But this is mostly as I had illness last time I changed food brands unexpectedly - probably a coincidence.

Thanks Daphne ... phoned FSF like you suggested. Apparently I got the Organic food as they must have been out of the other pellets - both are Allen & Page, same colour and same size pellets. Just going to hang onto it. Was having a bad day and a gripe :D
