This is my first time having hens and this forum has really been a life saver. Its funny how you worry about every little thing at first isnt it! I have been a chicken mummy for just over a month and the amount of worrying I am doing is ridiculous. Mercedes55 Posted July 30, 2010 Share Posted July 30, 2010 They do look lovely. I love that egg, one of mine lays one that looks just like that, pale at one end and dark and speckledy at the other. I have now started to weigh mine as one of my ex batts seems to lay quite big eggs and they are usually 76grams and quite hard to fit into an egg box I also worry all the time about mine and am always going out to check on them and make sure they are okay. Yours look to be in better condition - ours are really quite featherbare - am hoping they will grow some new feathers soon, poor little things! Hope yours settle in ok.
