Advice please much appreciated!

Recommended Posts

Two of my chooks have had bare bums/under tummies for a while now and the one has dirty looking feathers round her bum. I did give her a bum a wash down a little while ago and the feathers she had left there did go back to being nice and fluffy. They are both fine in themselves but the bare skin is rather red looking and I am wondering if this is normal or if it would be sore? I can't see anything crawling around but am wondering if I'm missing something as never experienced lice before :? I have some Johnsons Anti Mite spray, so would it be worth giving them all a spray just in case? Also have some Johnsons Tea Tree skin cream, would it be worth using that as well?

Thanks all for the replies. They were wormed a couple of months ago with Flubenvent so not really due for another one yet. Think I'll give them all a spray with the Johnsons and see if that helps. Lottie is off to the vet now anyway this afternoon as it looks like her eye infection has returned for the fourth time :( so I'll see what they say as well as she's the one with the most feather loss and bum problems. She's a very sad chook at the moment ..... :(
