Recycling old clothes/fabric

Recommended Posts

You can make pillowcases from an old duvet cover.

You can make small bags, pencil cases with denim from old jeans and I saw a tutorial recently for turning the thick seams of jeans into drinks coasters which was ingenius.

How about turning a child's dress into a skirt if there's sufficient fabric in the skirt.

Oh give over & keep up with the trends!

Lucy at Attic 24 uses old jumpers to make cushions with for her crochet work. Fuzzy woollen ones can be felted on a hot wash. Old t shirts can be cut up to make cute baby hats & little girls dresses make brilliant peg bags wit a bit of clever sewing. Old bras make good hanging baskets! (dependant on size) & pants on canes make excellent bird scarers!

I could get a decent hanging basket (or two!) out of one of my bras, but I think hanging my pants over the vegetable patch would probably scare the neighbours more than the birds!

I've got a rag rug on the go, that's where all my old clothes are going at the moment.
