The_eggwards_family
I was totally shocked at the price in b&q! Is there somewhere cheap to get them from? Im in warwickshire. Or would plastic be ok - we are keeping the food in the garage?
abwsco
Plastic bins should be OK but mice and rats can still chew through them so it could be a false economy. How many do you need as there's an ebay seller doing them for £15.99 but postage is £8.50 on one bin plus £1 per extra one. I bought off him as the only other ones I could find around here were £10 more but I could visit his shop (not much use for you I know )
hippy chick
I have seen some lockable plastic ones in pound stretcher. They are £8.99. They should easily fit a 20k bag of feed in them.
blueandwhite
Hi I got one from Ikea, 9.99 (Knodd). Not sure how big you need but mine measures 29cm high x 32xm dia. I think they do a bigger one too.

The_eggwards_family
Fantastic - a trip to Ikea it is! Thank you Cheapest I found locally was £21.50, but Ikea is only 9 miles away so its still pretty much local
batcatz
Hi, I got mine from Ebay. I think it was a bigger bin than the ones in Ikea. I can fit in a 20kg bag of pellets and a bag of corn, grit etc. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Galvanised-Steel-Dustbin-Waste-RECYCLE-Rubbish-Bin-/370417789778?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item563e9eeb52
Gelbel
Never had a problem with the 2 plastic ones I use - one for pellets and things, one for corn and things. I got both from Poundstretcher (or some similar place) for £7 or £8 a piece.
BarbaraJ
Before you go and buy ask on freecycle. The council used to supply metal dustbins and people don't always want them anymore, thats where mine came from
bennett
I got mine from ikea, was 14.99 and is cream colour. So looks pretty too!
bevmatt
I had my food in plastic bins in a plastic mini shed and within 3 days the squirrels had bitten through both - not good. That then left a nice little hole for the mice!
