Today some raspberry leaves fell in their play area but I'm not sure how much got eaten or by who - only 3 leaves fell in. I also threw in some earwigs but again I'm not sure if they got eaten either, but a bit later Matilda was sat on the gravel - to be honest a bit like on a little nest, a bit quiet.

I'd saved them some potato and gave it to them for bed at 8pm but Matilda was tucked up already - she didn't even come down for any .

Do you think she is ok ?

That's good then..... I thought they might be poisonous.

I'm sure I read somewhere about some insects giving off cyanide or "Ooops, word censored!"nic - was it millipedes ......?

 

I'm still not sure why Matilda went to bed so early though.

Mine all eat raspberry and strawberry leaves with no ill effects and they absolutely love earwigs, I uncovered a nest by their run and the earwigs were gone in seconds.

my lot have stripped the leaves of the rapsberry suckers on and off since spring and they're fine

I think all insect life is fair game as far as chickens are concerned

Raspberry leaf tea is good for all things gynocological, so I imagine whole leaves won't do them any harm

 

Mine are working their way through the borage in my garden at present, which apparantly tastes like cucumber and can be added to salad so they should be OK if a little squitty if they have too much
