Tutti Frutti
I changed my £5 clubcard vouchers into £10 pet food vouchers and got four bags of mealworms for the grand cash total of ZILCH - just a £5 voucher! The staff didn't know if it applied to wild bird food but it works (I also got a shed load of cat food but don't tell the girls that )
Krysia
We use our tesco vouchers for days out with the kids everyhting is so expensive but you get 4x the amount! so a £2.50 is worth £10 to us in days out! I was telling my mum as they just spend them in the shop and for my birthday this year they gave me £40 quids worth of vouchers as they were worth more to me! I change them and pic up the day out voucher from her house and we get loads of free days out! its fab!
Perfectspace
Mealworms also £2.50 for 100g in Wilkinsons, which is a lot cheaper than a few of the Pet Shops I've been in. Perhaps others know of cheaper....?
chick wiggle
A local independant pet store in Hull sells bags of mealworms £7 for 1kg! Sorry it doesnt help most of you but just to say its worth checking out the smaller stores For those who are local ish, its Thearnes on south st, city centre. Unit
I've bought some dried mealworms but I've not yet got over my displeasure in the idea of them to actually open the bag yet! Useless! As for Tesco vouchers - as Krysia, we use ours for much needed breaks... A nice weekend in a hotel here, or an open university course there! Charlottechicken
Home Bargains have 100g pots for £1.99, although I've been told on here that if you buy several kilos it is much cheaper. I don't feed my lot that many mealworms though.
Jennifer Jane
I was saving my double up voucher for cat food. I used to buy the 2 bags for £5, but bought a bigger bag elsewhere a couple of weeks ago, which worked out cheaper. I just have to make sure my DH doesn't feed them too many though, otherwise it won't be any saving - he dropped a load on the shed floor at the weekend, then let the girls in to peck them up as he couldn't be bothered to pick them up . At least the small Tesco bags limited the amount he gave them. I'll have to decant them into small containers now to achieve the same effect.
