Change in the air

I know what you mean, and it felt a bit autumnal here today too ... but it's only August! I don't expect to get that feeling until around the start of the school term, and it always brings back the memories of having new winter shoes and a new pencil case. I love autumn and don't mind winter too much, but I don't like the short days - so hard to get things done in the evenings, and it means my poor old chooks only get out to free-range at weekends. I am however quite excited about lighting the woodburner again - it'll be the third winter, and the thrill still hasn't worn off.

I'm hoping for a bit more summer - got a couple of barbecue/outdoor parties before I get the winter woollies out again.

Lovely and warm here - no need for a cardigan, just t-shirt all day. Got the cube scrubbed out and cleaned and spent a while taking photographs of the later summer butterflies.

I do love autumn though, and I managed to pick a lot of blackberries and apples to make jelly - it is straining overnight right now!

I do miss the season changes....... until I remember how much I hate being cold :lol::wink:

I remember that Paola, when I spent some time in the far east, I felt myself longing for cold frosty mornings! My uncle still lives in Singapore but doesn't miss the cold snaps.

I longed for a cold snap until I had to visit the UK in January! I landed and it was about -1!!!!!! A real shock to the system. I never managed to warm myself up for the whole week I was in the UK.
