So much for personal space!!

Recommended Posts

I've just been taking pics/videos in the garden as the babies are now outdoors and we've added some ladders and platforms into the girls WIR....

...I had some company!!

Meet Suki, the hen who has no concept of person space....that or she thinks she's a parrot!! Whenever I walk into the run, she tries to climb on me...she's even taken to trying to jump on me in the garden, which usually results in her throwing herself straight at me causing me to catch her!! :roll: ...wouldn't be so bad if they had softer toes!!

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Oh that is so cute!

My hen Bella has recently discovered that she likes jumping onto my lap when I'm sitting down. This is fine and I now dress appropriately when visiting the run :lol: However I was taken rather by surprise when I was bending over in the run a few days ago, filling up the grit hopper, to suddenly discover Bella on my back.

I was a bit marooned with her stood there on my back whilst I was bent over, so I had to slowly stand up and let gravity do its job with her :lol:

:lol: Thanks everyone!!

She's adorable...but when its 7am, when I'm half asleep and only wearing a lightweight top...and only in there to top up the water...and a hen leaps on your back.... :shock::roll::wink: or at 8pm when she's adamant she wants to roost on you...putting her on the floor again just makes her more desperate...! :doh:

She is lovely really!! :D

My poor OH is scared of birds...he's fine when they're on the ground, scratching and minding their own business...but if they start flapping or get their feet or beaks too close...he freaks out...!! So can you imagine his reaction when Suki snuck up behind us on Sunday whilst we were in the WIR, making the new platforms, jumped on my back and suddenly appeared level with his face, wings flapping as she tried to grip!!!! :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::twisted:

..Ooops, I mean... :shameonu: naughty hen!! :whistle:

Mollie - the tomato swing ball had me in stitches as for the first 10 minutes, they had no idea how to deal with it!! They pecked it, it started swinging...they were both stood opposite sides and kept leaning their heads back as it came close then leaning towards it as it swung away....it looked as if they were pushing and pulling it on invisible strings!! :lol:
