Men and colds: Dan don't read this....

Recommended Posts

:shock::shock:Found it. I know, I'm like a dripping tap!

At Last The 1948 Show, written & performed by John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Tim Brooke Taylor & Marty Feldman! Preceded M.Python, which later made the sketch famous. Don't know the year yet, couldn't wait to report back.....Not that anyone else will remember the original

Apparently available on DVD.

So that'll be on my Christmas hint list! :D:D

Well done Sheila - now we just need a year. Of course, I should really know the year but...........

People forget how funny Marty Feldman was. (or who he was! :? )

Much better thanks, even wondering if I dare enter Mum's race at Sports Day this afternoon  Don't think I should as most mums there are a decade or 2 younger and some do pointless things like running for miles every day. But top points for embarrassing daughter

Wonder if there's a wobble race.

Or egg & spoon!

Lesley, I agree, Marty Feldman was ahead of his time, brilliant. Anyone else remember him?

Getting back on topic - just because I missed it earlier.

The Boy is a dreadful moaner about his health and carries half a pharmacy aroud with him in case he is taken poorly - still it's useful as I can alway rely on him to have a painkiller on him. Personally I think that working at his home and not having kids gives him far too much time on his hands to think about his health.

Having said that I've caught Rosie's stinking 'back to school cold' and he is giving me a lot of sympathy AND he look after me very well when I had bad flu and pleurisy earlier in the year. So I try to humour his whinging! The problem is that Rosie has picked up on it and likes to complain about the smallest scratch, obviously hasn't inherited my high pain threshold!

I have developed the annual "Back to work with 200 stinking children who get sent to school when they're ill so all the teachers can get it" obligatory September sore throat and cough.

OH was nursed to within an inch of his life last week with a mere cold...

"Fetch me more Nurofen cold and flu dear"

"Where exactly would you like me to put them DEAR"?

Oh, just within reach would be fine...any chance of a coffee..."? etc.

This morning:

Me: " Oh, I feel like S**t, I'm not going in today"

OH " "Good, I can go back to sleep: You kept me awake all last night with your funny clicking sound...snore snore...."

I got up and let the chickens and donkeys out and made a coffee, whilst hacking my guts out...he's still in bed!

How long do you get for smothering someone with a pillow?

Annie hope you feel better soon and get a little bit of TLC from OH.........

I think the sentence for smothering somebody is quite long but you could always claim it was euthonasia and you might get off with it after all he was very ill with the flu last week, and probably said many times that he felt like he was dying..................:lol::lol::lol::lol:
