Really quite disappointed with Omlet

Recommended Posts

I'm struggling to believe their apalling level of customer service, it's been really shocking.

We sent the eglu back well over a fortnight ago and still haven't had a refund for it, but as H has got us a wooden coop I ordered a few bits from Omlet on Monday night. The main thing I wanted was the 25m of chicken netting so that I could let the girls have a bigger bit of lawn to mow (they do seem to be very good lawnmowers!).

I would have expected delivery yesterday but Omlet rang and said they were having trouble with their courier and everything would be here today. So I stayed in all day.

Rang Omlet at 4pm to be told that nothing was being delivered today, it would be sometime tomorrow. Maybe I'm being very unfair but I have wasted an entire day sat at home when they could have rung me to tell me our order was delayed yet again. :shameonu:

I'm self employed and it costs me money to sit at home all day, H was made redundant 2 weeks ago and was at a job interview so I can't afford to lose money sitting around doing nothing. Offering to refund the delivery charge was hardly going to make me whoop for joy, especially as we're going away tomorrow lunchtime for the weekend so unless they deliver tomorrow morning, our girls won't be seeing any extra grass this weekend as I don't think the cat/dog/chook sitter will want to put the netting up for us!

I'm in retail, customer service is king and as a new customer I have to say Omlet have less me rather unimpressed.

Are they always this bad or have I just been terribly unlucky?

I think generally they are very good - but when they don't control the complete E2E supply chain there will always be issues at some point.

I've bought housing, food, chicken potions etc. and not had a problem with delivery until now. They phone me today as well to let me know that my delivery (a new (cube purple) ) wouldn't be delivered tomorrow (Friday) as planned - having problems with the courier. It will be delivered Tuesday instead by parcelforce.

Disappointed but at least they informed me - I work from home so not a huge deal with having to take time off etc; but never the less disappointed; the plans for reorganising the WIR at the weekend will be moved to following weekend. Hubby will be pleased

I think they are probably experiencing problems with the courier.

I was due to recieve a cube run extension and a replacement wheel assembly for my cube today but it hasn't turned up.

OH did try to ring omlet but it had just passed 5.30 so he left a message.

This isn't the first time that an order has been late for me but last time omlet did call me in the morning to let me know,

but saying that ,if the courier doesn't pass the information to omlet they can't inform their customers of delayed deliveries.

Does anyone know if they are still using uk mail?

My netting hasnt turned up either today, was supposed to be yesterday as was off work. Like everyone else got a call yesterday to say wouldnt be delivered but would be today.!!

I hope it comes tomorrow as I wanted the netting for the weekend, so can let the girls out. I will be so miffed if not.

Good Afternoon,

I can only apologise to those of you that have experienced problems this week with your deliveries.

We were informed by our courier company that they had suffered a massive system failure which as a result meant our orders were unable to be dispatched from the main delivery hub, this situation has been totally out of our control.

The courier company however had not envisaged this problem lasting two days which as a result meant that deliveries expected on specific days were not going to arrive. We tried where possible to get in touch with each customer who was due a delivery to explain the situation and to advise that delivery would be made as soon as possible and I apologise profusely if we did not manage to get hold of you.

We have received confirmation from the courier company that all deliveries will be attempted today so hopefully your delivery will arrive with you before 6pm.

Please again accept our apologies and we thank you for bearing with us during this time and we are confident normal service will resume soon!

Thank you

The problem with couriers is the lack of communication...every courier service seems to be the same, so even if Omlet switched companies, there would never be a 100% success. Instead of refusing a job, they'll take it, hide the problem, avoid notifying anyone until the last minute then the supplier looks bad.

If you're self employed, is there not a family member or neighbour who could receive the item, or alternatively, have it delivered to your place of work?

I've placed two orders with Omlet and am very pleased to say that both arrived when predicted.

My netting has arrived today  so the girls can come out the weekend for the first time.

Am so egg-cited as know they desparately want to come out of the run too. Be so good to be able to let them FR a bit.

Got my egg skelter too.... they had better get laying as only have one egg to put in it so far its going to look a bit lonely.:lol::lol::lol:
