chuckmum6
Are your girls moulting yet? Mine are, they have got bare patches on their bums and tums. Oh and Princess Layer looks like she is going broody yet again, fourth time since May!
Mercedes55
I'm never sure how to work out if they are moulting or if another of the girls is pulling out their feathers My ex batts seem to have slowed down with their feather growth and my new girls seem fine in the run but when I clean out the tray in the morning there is an assortment of feathers in the tray, not sure what is going on. I have no idea if girls as young as mine would moult anyway. I do know that my parrot and dog are moulting at the moment though

Egluntyne
My Pekins are moulting big time. The run looks like an explosion in a pillow factory.
debbie9946
mine are moulting, my shed looks a right old state first thing in the morning. But just underneath I can see all the new feathers coming through. A night new coat, just in time for winter. BRRRR
Minnie&Moose
Our speckeldy is going for the Naked Neck look! She's also working on her blonde highlights - lost a row of feathers either side of her comb which are now coming back in yellow - might look great on some but not Mabel! The Dogmother
Some of mine are too I've started to add some seaweed to their feed and tonic to the water to help them through it. When they (pure breeds) stop laying for the winter, I usually swap them over on to growers or breeders feed for a month to give them more protein.
