geb0205
I'm trying to start to set up a small business offering a service of osteopathy and naturopathy, with the aim of not only setting up business locally one day, but then taking a branch of that small business to local competitions and offering that service to competitors (and one day horses) along with it to give a holistic imput into sports people and aim to help them achieve their aims. Naturopathy encompasses diet and lifestyle, along with emotional imput, into the person's overall health, and how to produce the optimal healing environment for the body to heal in. I've wanted to do this for about 3 years but never had the qualifications or the money to put into it. I am qualified and registered mainly as an osteopath, but I will be registering with the governing body as a naturopath. So, I have some marketing ideas, and time scales etc etc, but I just cannot think of a unique name to call "myself". I quite like "back 2 health" but its rather common, and I want to be different... I have thought of "Optimum Health" but someone is already using that then .co.uk so it's not worth it. Nor is "Ultimate Health". Help!! red
Good for you for reaching for want you want. You have a very positive sense of ambition. I hope it is a success for you. I may be being a bit thick but I'm a bit confused is it for people or animals - only you mention horses
geb0205
Sorry, I knew I would forget something... Its for people at the moment, but I do want to post-grad into horses. There is someone who does osteopathy on zoo animals, including swans... I wonder if I could do it on Chooks?! What about "Pathway to Health"? Guest
That's good. I was wondering about 'Pathos' with all your opathies.
Trish
bit boring but how about your initials and then Therapies e.g. TCF Therapies , allows for you to add other therapies later without needing to change the business name. Only suggesting it because that's probably what I'll end up doing soon
Gallina
"Health 2 back" would seem just as appropriate as "Back 2 health" after gardening all day. What about "Health Farm" if you are working with animals? "Call of nature" would make people laugh, but maybe not serious enough. "Better Nature"? "Nature reserve"? "For the rest of your natural"? They're getting worse: I had better stop.
feemcg
Hope it all works out for you. How about - Vital Health Best Health Body Natural Natural Balance Nature Plus -all of the above with 'Therapies' at the end?
Egluntyne
What about Naturos (Health)
geb0205
Thanks for the replies folks... I've been doing some googling on names, and dont know where I would stand if I used the same name as another company. "Back 2 health" has already been taken, along with things like "ultimate health" "ultimate balance" "optimum health" etc etc. "Pathway 2 health" doesnt seem to have been used, but then, I dont know if I like using a number to replace a word (yes, I am old fashioned! even if I am only 22!) Hmmm.
Louise
Whatever you choose just make sure the website name doesn't inadvertantly spell something offensive out as search engines may not pick it up and some browsers like mine at work won't allow access like therapist.com
Popcorn
I'm the same with using numbers for words. I much prefer to read the correct grammatical pronunciation. What about: Bare Bones Therapy To the bone Naturo Therapy Do you think Pathway to Health is a bit non specific? Maybe it needs to be more obvious if you are specialising in a certain area? A tough one. Edited April 25, 2007 by Guest
geb0205
Gina, I think you have hit the nail on the head for me... it IS a bit vague.... Hmm, more pondering to come!
Popcorn
I only say this because if I had a back problem I'd look for an obvious name within that field. There a lovely little therapy place down the road from me and they specialise in relaxation, reiki, massages and pampering etc....they're called The Lavender Clinic. You get an idea of what they offer from the name. I've still got my thinking cap on. Not sure it's working though
Guest
I'm the same with using numbers for words. I much prefer to read the correct grammactial prouniciation. Classic! I think you said in your next post that you weren't sure your brain was working??? I'm not being rude - thank you for making me laugh! Gallina
I think you need a short unique name that stands out and that people will remember. Anything with "health" in sounds the same. And anything with a number in is tricky in a URL. Something like BACKPACK (that's not at all suitable, but it's the sort of word you would remember). Or BACK TO BACK. Popcorn
Classic! I think you said in your next post that you weren't sure your brain was working??? I'm not being rude - thank you for making me laugh! [/color] I'm dyslexic Ginette, so brain never functions properly. Unless it's pointed out to me, I generally don't spot my mistakes. No pun intended, but funny nontheless
buffie
I've been sorting out my life coaching name, just gone for live-life coaching for my website and edtherapy for eating disorder therapy. It's difficult isn't it. Play around with it, be warned some of the websites that register pinch the names you suggest and say unavailable, well that's wht I was told by an IT chap. Good luck BBx
Gallina
On the way to work I thought BACKINACTION would be good, but when I got here I discovered someone else thought so too! Are you going to be getting a "co.uk" address?
Popcorn
I think 'back in action' is fab! Really clear and catchy too
Gallina
Sorry, what I meant when I said that someone else thought so too was that "Back in action" was already in use! What about "Backtofront"? I can't see that the name is being used by anyone, but the domain name would have to be obtained from the domain-name speculator who has it for sale, and that could be expensive. The trouble is that all the good names are already taken.
Guest
Sometimes I think these catchy names are a bit boring - we've been seeing them around for a long time. I wonder if you could pick up more on the Naturopathy bit. Something like 'Whole Health'. You need to find something memorable which also informs people what it is you're offering. I don't envy you!
