Carrick boots have been really popular this year, there are some on BIN on ebay for £95...Now, for something that cost £45 originally that's a bit steep!

I wouldn't trust Joules for boots personally. They might all dress as farmers but sensible isn't really in their criteria.

 

I have hunters cos theye the only ones where the tops don't gape hugely. DH goes for town and country. I want to get some nice leather muck boots. Found some treadstone ones I love but can I find a dealer?

 

As for socks, I used to wear ski socks but have been 'borrowing' ds1s joules welly socks and wearing them over my own and the difference is amazing. Going to order him some more becaus eIve stretched them

I wouldn't normal go to Joules fro boots either, but a friend recommended these and they are excellent - good grip, very warm, sensible design and don't leak!

I got some Welligogs at Gardener's World Live. I didn't pay £169 for them though

 

It is worth having them as I spend so much time doing work outside, and it is nice to have boots that don't look out of place in the pub after we've finished. They are leather but waterproof, and you can hose them down. I got some of the fluffy boot linings and they do keep my feet warm when out all day, especially if combined with ski socks. I've had them quite a while and they still look almost brand new.

 

I also have a pair of Squaddie boots (Magnum Stealth Force 8 CT/CP) that keep my feet warm and dry, and have hard toe caps for when I need safety boots. They aren't completely waterproof, but good enough unless you actually wade through a pond.

I have just won a pair of Rubberduck SnowJoggers on eBay for £40.

They retail at about £95,so I am very pleased.

Got the white non shiny sort,& my daughter & I are the same size,so we can share them - they will look great with her skinny jeans (& legs!) for college

I get seriously cold feet. I've got dismal circulation too.

When it's snowy and cold, nothing I put in my wellies is warm enough, so I wear The North Face Chilkats. They are sooooooo warm and cosy it's like having your feet dipped in melted chocolate

Just want to add that my Romika boots are AMAZING!!! I usually suffer from terribly cold toes...but these boots keep my feet toasty...which I didn't think was possible given my poor circulation! I walk my daughter to school...30 minutes in total...when I get home my feet are positively warm...fantastic! They have done wonders for my plantar fasciitis which was my reason for buying them initially.
