Lorax
We got our Columbine last Thursday night. From the of she has been quieter than the others although she seems much better today. She is eating and drinking, but she doesn't have the vigour of the others. Today we noticed one of the chooks has been doing red jelly like poos. I suspect this is not good and in fact I'm really nervous that we're all going to catch some awful chicken disease...What shall I do? Pikey
Is there blood in there or is it just stringy??
Lorax
I'm at work now, so trying to remember. I think it was like an orangey red jelly like. I've just been reading http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=29364 and wondered if it was slug overindulgence. But then also there's some hideous thing they can get cocciolitis or something..
Pikey
It usually is stomach lining and/or too many slugs and worms. However it could also Coccidiosis .....as this can affet stomach lining but you also get blood as well. I;m going to pm you with some information for homeopathic treatment.....however if you see blood get them to a vet ASAP. I think having chickens is more worrying than having kids
Lorax
I do think it might be too many slugs and snails. It's the first time they've probably eaten them! With children I'm used to breastfeeding them through illnesses, so totally am lost here! Would appreciate your offer of a PM, thank you.
