Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

the new ex-batts must be wondering why i bothered rescuing them if the outside world is unremitting grey, wet and miserable!

 

not conducive to free ranging and set to last till tuesday. let's hope they don;t start kicking off at each other... bedtime is starting to get a bit "no that's MY space!" "no it's MINE!" "get OFF!".

As mine have their own fr area which is fairly sheltered they have been out in the rain for a short time today - however they just stand there getting wet as if they haven't a clue where it's coming from

Mine were sooo wet and bedragled this morning! Drying out now though.

Gosh the weather has been awful today! My girls have been FR all day and although they look wet and bedraggled they seem to be OK and happy enough. They have shelter out there but are choosing not to be under it. Here's hoping for a dry weekend...

The weather was horrid for us too yesterday, it's looking nice and dry so far though today

 

Our girls were so funny though in the rain, they were running around in it - you could just imagine them singing 'we're singing in the rain'

 

Bless them they didn't half look all bedraggled and windswept but seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves!

I'd hope that if they did mind the rain, they'd go under cover but the other day they were so funny running around in it!

We've put plastic tarp round 2 of the 4 sides of our WIR, it makes a big difference when it's hammering down like this. The aubiose still gets a bit wet on one side but it keeps the hens dry.
