Feeling Hot Hot Hot...any advice?

Recommended Posts

I take sage capsules, the lady in health shop said its proven to be effective especially for "sweats" which I was getting far more of than actual hot flushes. Now its about 50/50  so a real improvement. Disturbed nights are still rather a problem though. Glad I'm not alone

Just wondered if you'd noticed any improvement with the sage capsules, chickendoodle?

I want to thank Claret again for the suggestion about Femarelle, I've now been taking it for about six weeks and for me the difference is huge. I know it doesn't work for everyone, but it has got rid of the hot flushes - absolutely - for me, and that is just wonderful. Until you've experienced these, I don't think anyone really appreciates just how unpleasant and debilitating they are. If anyone else on here is taking it, Holland & Barrett have a 'buy one, get one half-price' offer on at the moment.

I think the night sweats have improved, but that could just be the cold weather!

I've just made an appt to see my GP about possible menopause issues. I did have several hot night sweats about a year ago, but am ok now. It's the severe axe wielding maniac PMS symptoms I'm having trouble with at the moment, and my friends and family must be suffering. It's awful!

I am certainly waking less during the night and when I do wake up the flush only lasts for a minute or so - fling the duvet off to cool down and then back off to sleep. I seem to get hardly any during the day now although I wasn't really getting that many anyway. During the evening was worse and that has certainly calmed down.

So on the whole I do think they are working as any flushes I do get are certainly not so severe
