It will be first time have dosed my girls with any medication so a tad nervous about doing it. :?

Got my 2kg of pellets sorted with the 6g of flubenvet mixed in ready to start. I normally mix the grit in the pellets I feed will it still be ok to do that or best to give separate for a week. ?

I put my grit into a metal dog dish but to be honest they always end up tipping it all over the floor. For the most part they ignore it as they FR. Sometimes I just scatter a handful amongst the grass.

My worming experience was kind of a mess. I had liquid panacur and put the measured dose onto 4 plates of tuna and boiled egg.(1 per girl) All very well except that I the had to make sure they only ate from their dish. Nightmare. I will be using powder in the crumbles next time. Good luck.

It's much easier to syringe the required amount (1ml/1kg of hen) into their beaks. You only need to do two doses a week apart.

Ok...on day two now...and found a strange egg this morning... it was all wrinkly  is it just a coincidence that have started the worming and this has happened ?

Or more likely from the bit of banging hubby had to do last yesterday when putting roof on WIR yesterday.

Both girls seem fine in themselves today.

Four days into worming and the stuff is definitely working... thought I saw a dead worm in some poo yesterday but most certainly there were some in the waste tray of eglu when cleaned that out today. Ewwwwwwwww!!!

Never seen any evidence of any before but just goes to show doesnt it, they are there. :vom::vom::vom:

Ooh there was also softie egg in waste tray too so wonder if the worming stuff has contributed to that and the wrinkly one the other day.

Have had two perfect eggs today though, and girls seem fine. :D

You are right, you don't often see signs of worms. They can be hooching with them with little outward sign. Evidence is microscopic in poo until things are really quite advanced. This is why it is a good idea to worm 3-4 times a year as a routine. Or, you can send samples off for worm egg counts and worm according to the results.
