Battlesbridge Garden Centre.......

Recommended Posts

Sounds like i may have to swing by and have a peek.

I'm sure when i popped in there before they sell marriages feed bagged up into smaller bags. I wonder if they'd consider doing the same with the flubenvet marriages feed? Now that'd be a good idea.

Oooo exciting I might just be popping down there soon too.

Its going to be very tempting having somewhere on the doorstep that sells Omlet products. I think OH is going to be very worried every time I pop out now.

Can you just go and buy one of the shelf I wonder or do you have to order it? Shame I'm busy tomorrow with MIL birthday otherwise I think I might have been heading down there on a little reconnaissance mission :)

I popped in there this afternoon and there was a !gored! sat in the main entrance. I suggested that it would look much better with a couple of chooks in it , but I found the chooks outside round the back. They didn't look like they had that many but quite a few were inside as it had chucked it down over night and the runs were rather wet. I did notice that they also had quail.

The couple who run the garden centre are really nice and friendly we had a lovely long chat. Apparently (you may already know this of course) Omlet only allow three retailers to sell the go, and only the go. I said a cube would look fab next to the go but they are not allowed one. He also said that Omlet are bringing out some new products in January that they would be able to sell - have I missed something ?? does anyone know of new products next year ??

I was amazed at the range of poultry feeds they sell - Marriages, Allen & Paige (inc. the ex-bat pellets which I'll need in a couple of week with new batty girls coming) and a couple of others. They also had a BIG range of other essentials, ie. Bio-dry, poultry shield, diatom powder, red-mite & lice powder, tonics, net-x and verm-x products, as well as feeders, drinkets etc. I'll never need to buy anything on-line again. They are def. worth a visit.

maybe we could persuade them to get a coffee shop and they could be our buddies!

There's a nice little cafe at the top of the tall barn next door (one of the antique buildings) :D .

I've just realised that my ex-bats are coming in just TWO WEEKS !!! So I'll def. go back to the garden centre next week and get the ex-bat feed (they had the large 20k sacks - local Pets At Home only had 5k bags last time I looked). I think I'll also try a small bag of Marriage's pellets for the others girls as the guy says they are much better than the brand I'm currently using, and egg numbers are down at the moment.

Not sure if they are 'on the shelf'..... but they do have lots of stuff there...... they do bag up smaller quantities of pellets mash and grit, plus other treaty things too!

Hi I looked on your blog and saw the link HENS4HOMES they call their laying hens Happy Hens are they the same as the Happy Hens from the TV advert who have been exposed by the media for the appaulling conditions their chooks live in? :( There is a link on here somewhere.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo rest assured they are completely separate! They are based in Stebbing North Essex...... I've not had girls from there myself, but know people who have and they are very pleased...... From where you are you could be better going into Kent!

I got my 4 GNR(Bluebelle)(white chicken)PP from Smilers near Southend and would like a few more next year possibly a couple of ex-batts. I was just concerned that if it was the same farm from the horrible vidio we were all being dupped again. This is how rumours start :lol::lol:

You need to get badges ;)

Especially handy at big meets like The National - you can spot people as you walk around 8)

Looks really wierd to other people though when you introduce yourself by usernames ... and then real names
