Hi all, was just sitting in my living room thinking about putting a perch in the cube and a lightbulb came on!

We have a cube with extension, we originally had a small door and then upgraded to a big door

We still have the little door end panel

This is what i did

took the door off the top curved bit and put the top panel in line with the new bigger door and cable tied the sides.

And we have a level, and its really sturdy, of course run clips could be used too but cable ties are all i had to hand.

Now, my OH thinks its the most stupid idea ever  , i think it gives the hens more space. I have left it in there to see how they like it, can anyone find anything wrong/right with putting a mezzanine level in? none of them have been on it yet, but they are all having a look and there is enough space for the hens to stand up on it, i can take a pic if anyone wants! thanks xxx

We have a mezzanine level - originally we had roosting bars cable tied onto broom handles across the cube, however they were a bit of a pain when cleaning out, so we have now pimped one off DD's old tables to make a freestanding mezzanine level - am going to do the same with another set we have :D
