But out of the other two I am glad Lee (is that right?) didn't get through. He's didn't seem to take on their comments and he wasn't very good in the Michelin star restaurant either. I've missed my vocation in life as I love cooking & am very arty farty. Ahh well can always do a come dine with me experience. Have told myself that I must invest in some plain white square crockery! I hope David gets a good job on the strength of this...he gave up his job to concentrate on the competition. I read in the Mail today that Claire was pregnant at the time and didn't know, so the poor thing was throwing up all the time!!! I'm glad Claire won but I'd eat in any restaurant where the finalists were chefs. I am sure David will get a good job on the strength of his performance - he just seemed so nervous all the time! He reminds me very much in manner and in looks lof a bloke I met about 10 yrs ago, before babies and husbands were even a twinkle in my eye. I lusted after him so much, and never told him because I thought his coolness towards me was him not liking me. Thanks to the joys of facebook, he befriended me last yr, and it eventually emerged that his off-ishness was thanks to him being in love! dumb men... why do they always give off the wrong signals (really I'm sure it's me!) We both are married now with two kids each, so obviously it just wasn't meant to be and we're both superlatively happy - but it left me wanting David to win masterchef even though I am well aware that Clare was the better cook! So glad he got a job with Michel.... I think young master Roux is a hottie too and I think Monica will enjoy training him up if she gets a chance (not sure if she works at La Gavroche?) she was beaming when he was stood receiving his michelin-starred chef comments. Bless! Clare seemed a very genuine person and I hope her pregnancy is going well although it limits what she can cook for her and hubby to eat, no french cheeses for them!! Chucky Mama Posted November 5, 2010 Share Posted November 5, 2010 I was really torn between wanting David and Claire to win but in the end I wanted Claire to get it. She really did perform well. What a difference in all of them from the early tasks and tests though. All credit to Claire being pregnant at the time.
