Redwing
We have bought two vacuum cleaners in the last year, both expensive mistakes We need one that has a really good hose attachment, the last two have been fine for normal use but the hoses have been rubbish and didnt pick anything up and we are sick of dismantling them to keep them going Our budget is £100 though - this used to be plenty but nowadays the good ones seem to be £200 or so Anyone bought a good cheapish vacuum that they can recommend please? I'm off to seach the web but recommendations are always very useful
sadietoo
Not helpful at all I know, but my Dyson Animal is now on it's seventh year (i've had it for 6 and half years to be precise) and it's still going strong...so if you costed that out on a year to year basis it's actually quite reasonable. I will definitely buy another Dyson when this one dies. We always had Miele before, but this knocks spots off it, and no bags to buy!!! My friend has the cylinder Dyson, and wouldn't buy anything else either..... you will no doubt come back and say your two expensive mistakes were Dysons now. ..I really hope not, it certainly hasn't been my experience... Cinnamon
If you can stretch to it,the SEBO vacumes are amazing - quiet, powerful & they only ones that my local John Lewis staff will recommend
Janty
One of the big retailers sent me an e-mail a week or so ago saying that they had a half price offer on vacuum cleaners including Dysons if you traded your old one in. It could have been Currys...sorry, I've deleted the e-mail now. Might be worth trawling the internet to see if there are any more offers on. Geoid
What about a Numatic Henry, about £85, very powerful, industrial strength.
Clur
I agree with Fred - you can't get more reliable than a Henry Hoover - http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/numatic-hvr200-henry-bagged-cylinder-vacuum-cleaner-00778914-pdt.html Ours is 10 years old and we bought it as the father-in-law uses one for cleaning up after work (he's a builder/electrician) and it's the only make that hasn't died after 6 months of brick dust! Charlottechicken
Never thought about it before but the cleaners at work use Henry machines, and it's a very big office block.
