DH went out this morning and let them out, apparently it was "where's the food? food, food, food" then they noticed, "why are you in my run?"

 

We've just got back from church and been out to see: 1) are there any eggs? 2) have any eggs survived? 3) how are the girls? 4) how does the wir look?

The girls look ok, no obvious injuries. The posh girls are using the perches, probably to get away from the batts who outnumber them 2:1. The tarp on the roof has collected rain very nicely - need to think about putting a slope on that. The posh girls have laid their eggs very neatly in their eglu, one batt egg survived in the cube, one had broken and dropped out the bottom and one thin shelled had been eaten this morning.

 

So far so good. Think I'll leave their doors open tonight so they can get up when they want.

being able to leave the door open is so fab, it just takes that pressure off the early morning rush! your WIR looks great
