Guest
I've made various batches of truffles/cake bites by whizzing up sponge cake in the blender and adding melted chocolate and/or chocolate butter cream, sometimes adding a bit of liqueur, rolling into balls, chilling then dipping in melted chocolate. I made some the other day whereby I whizzed up some leftover fairy cakes (uniced) with a packet of golden crunch cream biscuits and some cream cheese icing. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=7103243&l=942d74df31&id=568396756 They were really nice and next time I'm going to try mixing some chopped nuts in with the filling mixture before coating in chocolate. Or i might put a bit of marzipan in the centre or a whole nut. Just wondered if you had any further ideas or inspiration for me? i don't like glace cherries or dried fruit with me chocolate but apart from that, inspire me! craftyhunnypie
Hi Poet. In the States they do something called cake pops. Bits of cake on popsicle / lolly sticks, then decorated with fondant icing, chocolate or whatever you fancy. They are fab! There are books on Amazon that you can look inside for ideas. A tip for the lolly sticks is to pinch the wooden coffee stirrers from Ikea, Starbucks etc. Just a thought for your home made treats ideas.
