Cinnamon
Today my award for rubbish service goes to New Look in Reading. I wanted a particular top for my daughter, but they only had a size 6,whereas she is usually an 8. I was pondering taking & trying it,but it looked awfully small across the chest,so I asked if they could measure it,as I know her chest size. They said no,they couldn't as they didn't have a tape measure OK,I said,a ruler will do. No...they didn't have one of those either Then the manager said that its just a standard size 6,& all their clothes were standard sizes. So I said fine,in that case what is the chest measurement of a standard size 6....she didn't know I went home empty handed.
Eggasperated
I will be watching Mary Portas tonight for her take on customer service in the UK.
The Dogmother
What utter rubbish service Sarah! I measure things with my hands - they are exactly 6" long. I once worked with Mary Portas - she was lovely
ubereglu
Now that is laughably awful!
Willow
My award would go to HP, pc failed - beyond appalling after purchase support so pc has gone back and will never touch them again
chickric
My award would go to HP, pc failed - beyond appalling after purchase support so pc has gone back and will never touch them again Totally different experience with HP. First laptop power supply failed, replaced after one phone call, then hard drive corrupted, again replaced after one phone call, asked if I was happy to change it my self or did I want to send laptop back for them to do it, even sent me out a new set of system restore discs with all latest updates for free (instead of £30 I think) Just goes to show how different peoples experience can be
Willow
Even their complaints dept has agreed their poor level of service is indefensible. I think they were overwhelmed with failures, their phones lines had queues that you never got to the top of (which at 5p/min is very annoying when you're dropped after waiting ages), live chat sessions with support failed due to server overload, emails to the email addresses they listed on their support website bounced as their inboxes were full and this went on for weeks. A hw failure I accept, sometimes it happens, but if it had been anyone other than hp from the inability to get in contact we'd have been convinced we were dealing with a company that was going out of business... edited to add twice we were rung by someone from HP who asked us what was happening to our pc I did suggest that they were the people who should know... Charlottechicken
I measure things with my hands - they are exactly 6" long. I do that, but by span size, mine is 8". Handy (pardon the pun!) to know as you always have the measure on you
