chicken bark
When I empty the frozen washing bowl and trug in the morning that I'm using as drinkers my chickens rush over and feast on any mouth sized bits of ice they can find. They seem to prefer the frozen stuff to the fresh water and regard it as a treat. Is it just my hens?

alet_chicken
All mine love eating snow too - even the ones that refuse to touch it with any other part of their bodies (like their feet...)
Henslaved
Mine too. When I sometimes break the ice in their drinker and bits of ice fall on the ground, the hens rush over and pick up the bits and eat them as if they are some tasty treat . The guinea fowl just look confused and are not sure if they are missing out

G8rSteph
It's so hot in the summer here, that I often add ice to their glug. They love to eat the ice!
