There is a man in a green suit doing the sort of geo physical walking up and down that they do on Time Team in a field next to my house. He is with another man similarly dressed, they marked out the field with wire and markers and are now doing the walking. I wonder what they are looking for

 

There were some other men with a big drill thing attached to a tractor there before Christmas too, it is certainly intriguing.

Oooh, I'd have to go and ask them - maybe you could help them look for it!!!!? (or perhaps they've just lost a contact lens or something )

Sounds more like they are surveying for resources though; is there a marked vehicle that they arrived in?

Couldn't see a vehicle but there is a network of tracks through the area. It is all church glebe land divided into sections and rented out.

 

I doubt that it would be built on because there has been so much local fuss about some infill land that a developer owns. Our allotment is also owned by the church and I know that a local developer has rights over that but they have been there for years and I think it is more in hope than expectation.

 

They have gone now, so we shall see.

Sorry she is miles away but I wondered if you were nearby as there seems to be other church type land and conditions near her,not far from the station. Hope you find out what its all about though. I always find things like this a bit unsettling.

I'd have been VERY happy to ask on your behalf, but it sounds like I'm too late. Don't worry about potential building ... yes, it could be that, but it could also be a lot of other things as well and I'm afraid it's just not worth worrying about it when you don't know if there's anything to worry about (easy for me to say, I know). They could be checking the land for public liability insurance etc (yes, even a flat field needs to have such things these days) or a general inspection on behalf of the church etc?
