Hello from the Santa Cruz Mountains

Recommended Posts

Well I confess I have posted before an age ago but forgot my login details so here I am under a refreshed account.

I just completed Mk3 chicken coop, I live in the middle of the Santa Cruz mountains so when embarking on a larger scale coop to keep the girls happy I wanted to ensure that they were safe and secure.. I have a couple of URL's below for your perusal, the 1st being some rough project details, the second being my Flickr site for various pics.

For teh Omlet team, inserting a cube onto a coop is a real pain because of the way the top slides.. May I suggest you think about a hinge and latch approach so you can push the cube right up to the coop and don't have to built elaborate decks or tunnels :)

Anyhow, I finnished this just yesterday so wanted to share..

Guy

Yeh, I did the standard run but had the dead space and took some time to figure it out... I makes for a tough stapling process and is very custom but I think rewarding and is almost completely hidden from teh house and road which is great. The structure is also so sturdy I bet I could build a deck on the top is I wanted to :)
