Hi,

My chickens currently have a walk in run with an wooden coop (which was cheap, and I may want to replace at som point), but I'm moving house soon (rented) so I need to returf the area where the run has been, but... I need to move the chickens whilst I returf and I was thinking of getting a omlet classic or go to put them in and moving them to some hardstanding I have for a couple of weeks whilst I prep and lay the ground.

But what is the difference between the two - apart from the obvious price?

Any opinions or thoughts greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hannah

I bought a Classic or introductions (Girls live in a Cube). When we started hatching chicks, I temporarily needed another one and bought a Go, mainly because it was cheaper than another Classic. My plan was to sell it afterwards.

They both have their good points.

The Classic is much more solidly made, and looks great. The Go is much thinner plastic, and doesn't feel as robust.

The Go is roomier inside, and it's actually easier to clean because of the way it comes apart. Because we were using them for chicks and intros, the nest box always gets a bit poopy, even when lined, and it was easier to clean this on the Go.

The Go Run has much better headroom and feels much more roomy. I also find it convenient that you can site the door anywhere, and actually because of the chicks and how tiny and hard they can be to catch, I ended up installing a door in every length, but alternated the sides.

The Go is slightly kinder to the grass on which it sits. The Classic sits right on the ground and wears out the grass underneath it, which is a bit of a shame. The Go is not quite on the ground, so when you move it the grass that was immediately underneath the coop part recovers much more quickly.

We sold the Classic and kept the Go, as it was better for the chicks (flatter), it was roomier for the intros, marginally easier to clean, and the ease of access into the run (with the extra doors) was better. But the Classic is better quality.

i think you should go for any really,it's not really different just the nesting lid thing which could be a problem because you always have to go in and out the run, but i have a classic eglu with a large run and 6 beautiful girls i went for the classic because it's very pretty and the shape is lovely and the chicken seem to love it and the rest of the family and guests, sometimes you have to pay more, but people have there reasons why not to, but the price go for the go eglu but then for the looks and even more easy go for the classic. i prefer you should get the classic you won't regret :D no offence but the go eglu looks like a mini fridge :S
