We all know that The Oscars isn't about great movies.......its all about the frocks!

What do you think of this years offerings?

Helen Mirren looks amazing,as does Gwyneth (for a change), Halle & Mandy Moore.

I really like those spangly nude tone dresses.

 

As for the not so good - I actually love Helens Bonham Carters dress - its very her (not a great picture of it here),but agree that the other ladies could have done better!

I didn't think there were too many horrors this year (I've only had a quick look). I thought Penelope Cruz looked stunning as did Natalie Portman.

 

I was not too keen on Cate Blanchett's dress though.

Yes, Natalie Portman looked amazing - it was a fabulous colour for her & dressed her 'bump' really well

Jennifer Hudson's dress made me feel a little nauseous Not sure about Helen Mirren's reminded me that I must get some more tin foil though. What is going on with Sharon Stone she looks like one of the Munsters or something.

Yes I forgot to mention Sharon Stone, I think her make up let her down, much too strong.

 

I also like H Bonham-Carter's dress too and think its very her.

You would think that they could find shoes that fitted ! On the close ups they all gape horribly at the back

 

Apart from a few howlers I thought the dresses were a lovely selection this year

Halle Berrys dress was by far the nicest. Cate Blanchett & Nicole Kidmans dresses were hideous!

Yes not impressed by Cate Blanchetts dress - very strange!

And I'm afraid I'm not a fan of all that pale peach - I do prefer the brighter coloured frocks! (apart from Halles of course)

Agree Halle Berry always looks stunning - I'd love to see her in a bolder colour though. Cate's was horrible. Loved the 50's princess dress on the 14 yr old - very sweet. I liked Helen Mirren's dress in the picture - it would be interesting to see it for real. Sandra Bullock looked good. Loved Helena B-C. Nataile P looked amazing.

Scarlett Johansonn's dress was pronounced fabulous by the Gruniad...I think Helen Mirren looks fabulous, but really not sure about the princess style...I also really liked HBC's dress, it was very her....
