beckyfitz
... will it stop raining? ... will my chicken run stop looking like a Hippopotamus' hollow? ... will my chooks be able to dust-bathe instead of mud-bath? ... will my white duck stay white for more than 30 seconds after her morning bath? ... will it warm up enough to not dress for the arctic just to walk down the garden first thing? ... will I not have to wade through poopy mud to open up houses in the morning? ... will I not have to wade through poopy mud again which has miraculously returned despite being cleaned up in the morning to close up in the evening? ... WILL IT BE SPRING?????? Becky x
TheFeatheredFiend
When indeed. Our garden is now so soggy that an increasingly large pond has formed in a hollow in the lawn. It's now got so big that a pair of wild mallards have moved into the garden and spend all day swimming on our lawn and quacking loudly every time we walk past to see the chooks. chicken bark
I think it must have been the longest soggiest winter ever. Spring has GOT to be around the corner now. I'm beginning to think my Amber Star is actually a Mud Star. Ducks seem to be loving it though.
Lavenders_Blue
Ugh, I know exactly how you feel! I have been putting bucket loads of wood chip down in the garden over the last few weeks to try and cover the worst of the mud, but the ground is so awful it just gets stamped down by the hens in a matter of days and we're back to square one. They don't seem to mind it, but I'm fed up of wading around in mud!
bouldercroft
I'll take your mud and swap it for my 2ft of snow My poor girls haven't see anything green since Dec 26th - it's driving us all crazy!

debsygooch
Wow FeatheredFriend - that's not a garden, that's a park!! Lucky you having such a huge garden, I bet the girls love that. My garden is so muddy that my OH slipped over and landed on his backside on Sunday. Even the cat hates going into the garden now. Roll on the spring and some dry sunny days!
