Guest
The show is sure to get a second series - we'll ALL be watching! I'm sure Rosie and Lauren will win over the cameramen and get lost of TV time. Hope they like the food!
The Dogmother
Well, Bitterly Disappointed of Banbury here! It was a bit of a farce really. To cut a long story short, the food for the children was rubbish - a choice of what looked like frozen pizza, spag bol or chicken korma! And really small portions too. We waited over an hour for our food, so I asked for free drinks as we hadn't been offered any more drinks since we'd arrived. The children's entertainment was necessary, because they were all bored with the waiting (any other restaurant and we'd have left by then), but they weren't supervised - just left to play in a room with paints and stickers - you can imagine the mess in there We had feedback forms to fill out and were interviewed, and we were frank and honest!!! Quite a lot of it seemed to be stage managed and I suspect that they will edit it to suit their purposes. Shan't bother doing it again then A real shame as we were looking forward to it, but it will be fun to see it on the TV when it is shown. Cate in NZ
Oh, Clare, sounds like a real diappointment then. I bet they edit it to make entertaining TV though What was the adult food like? As uninspiring as the children's or did they go for more inspiring alternatives. I do hate children's meals in most restaurants, why do caterers imagine that all children survive on bland mass produced fare
Lesley
I think Rosie and Lauren both made the point that they don't want a childrens' menu - just smaller portions from the adult menu (or, in Lauren's case - adult portions ) We've always asked in restaurants and they are mostly happy to supply smaller portions from the main menu. Do you have any photos Clare?

Tina C
Sounds like a bit of a set up. I will try and catch it out of interest but I think its going to be one of those programmes that I wouldn't normally bother with.
The Dogmother
The adult food was ok and the portions were good. We were trying not to compare it with the food they served at that restaurant before the Beeb took it over. We gave most of our food to the girls, who were starving. Unfortunatley, cameras weren't allowed I know that some people feed their children entirely on un-nutritious pap, but Rosie and Lauren are both happy to eat adult food. Most of the other children there left their food uneaten. I'd be interested to see their faces when they read my feedback form.
Guest
Sorry you had such a poor time at the restaurant Clare, I know you were looking forward to it. It is so annoying when you go for a nice meal as a family and they expect all children to choose from sausage and chips, burger and chips and pizza, pizza usually being the veggie option
