The Dogmother
This'll make you laugh (for those of you who know that I never watch telly); Rosie, Phil and I are going to be in a new reality TV series called The Restaurant. It's being filmed at a local restaurant ('Veritas', which was lovely before the BBC got their mitts on it). They are one of 3 restaurants being used in this series, which is judged by Raymond Blanc. On Saturday, they are filming one of the episodes, where the team, are challenged to produce a reasonably priced, nutritious meal for children. Other than that, I don't know what to expect. We have been asked to take another child, so a quick call to lesley and Lauren is joining us with her arm in a cast! I got a call this afternoon to say that the Banbury restaurant team are still in the competition, and that our meal was still going ahead here and not at one of the other locations. It will be really exciting, and I may even have to get the TV out of the cupboard and plug it in I think that the series is being shown in the autumn, but if one of you notices it on the TV, would you mind giving me a nudge? Mrs Frugal
Cool Clare! We don't watch a lot of TV now either but I'll pop it on to watch this!
Tina C
That sounds like fun! And a free meal as well I hope!
Martin B
Very cool, will look out for it!
The Dogmother
If I find out what date it's going to be on, I'll let you know. It was quite funny - one of the assistants called me today to run through some last minute bits, and she said that if the my child is running around and creating havoc, to let it as they want it to be as realisitic as possible . I pointed out that my daughter has perfect manners and NEVER behaves like that (well, not in public anyway ). I can guarantee that if any children are acting up, Phil will be first out of the door
Nicola H
Can't wait to see it.............. have fun.......
The Dogmother
That sounds like fun! And a free meal as well I hope! We pay a little for a 'very subsidised' meal - worth it if the food is anyhtign liek it used to be. I understand that the original owners are being compensated for the downtime, and that it will be restored back to it's original condition. I do hope so, because the decor was divine. Popcorn
I'd get the TV out of the cupboard well in advance if it was me and I'd make sure I knew when it was on. Buy a tv guide every week Clare! Sounds exciting, will look forward to seeing that

Lesley
I don't think we'll miss it Clare Lauren is really looking forward to going - even if you will have to cut her food up for her Oh! - and she's usually very well behaved as well!
AnnieP
Sounds interesting! Do you think there will be something "set up" in order to make good viewing, you know, somebody spilling food everywhere or a "scene" between lovers??? It should be great fun! Cinnamon
Fantastic Clare. Will we be seeing falling out of a cab in Heat soon too, like all the other reality TV stars? Just remember your Omlet knickers if you do
buffie
Brilliant, Clare get a BHWT mention and free range eggs if you can. OH you need a jute bag Hope it's fun BBx
The Dogmother
It'll be fun, I know that I can rely on Rosie and Lauren to behave, not so sure about Phil though I was wondering whether they'd stage soemthing or have some 'plant customers' who have been briefed to cause a scene - I will report back. Darn it Sarah - suppose I'll have to get some panties on then Sarah! *giggles* It will be a shame if the original decor of the restaurant has been irrepairably changed - it looked so lovely before. I expect that Phil will end up recording it for me - he always does that - he sees something that he thinks I'll want to watch and records it because he knows that I am totally oblivious to what's on the box. I usually catch up on them when I'm ironing.
Helly Welly
How exciting for you Claire I'll certainly be looking out for that, i never watch the other channel anyway so i shouldn't miss it I trust you'll be wearing an Omlet t-shirt and Crocs, although will you have to go all poshed up
The Dogmother
I did think about wearing my Omlet t shirt, BHWT sweatshirt and Crocs, but decided that I'd better be smart I don't usually do smart out of work hours - having to dress formally at work means that I can't wait to get back into my 'hillbilly' outfit when I get home. I shall be sure to mention chickens and the BHWT at every moment; just hope that it doesn't get edited out.
Lesley
Lauren is going to be wearing her 'Audrey Hepburn' dress - she usually only wears comfortable trousers She also has a new sling for her arm/shoulder - as she came round from the anaesthetic she was saying "Grandma says I have to have a new sling - I'm going to be on TV"
