Flo
I decided to let my cat out when the girls were in the Garden last night. I was prepared for all hell to break loose but actually they just igonored each other! My very old ginger cat Archie just plodded about and uttered a bemused meow when either of the chickens approached. I was pleased that his killer instinct didn't set in! He decided to live with us two years ago when we moved to the street, talking to our neighbours he has lived with various people all of his life and is about 23, so we were slightly worried how he would react to the girls We had a slight set back this morning though, Archie went to make friends with Lucy by giving her a sniff and he got a sharp peck on the nose, he was most upset! beach chick
they're funny arent they! my 2 grown up cats, Sparky & Salem, give the chooks a wide berth. Smudge (aged 10mths) has sussed out that they are BIRDS, with FEATHERS, and therfore EDIBLE... but also quite big! no beak-to-nose confrontation so far, but I think he will come off worse... Jules.
We have had no problems at all with our three cats, they just ignore our girls. We were a bit worried about how Hattie might react to them, as a few years ago we had some ducks on our front lawn that had come from the stream behind the houses across the road, & Hattie tried to catch them then (!), but no, she has taken them in her stride.
