I need a moan

Recommended Posts

Glad all has turned out well :D My car turned three this year and had its first MOT and thankfully all it needed was a light bulb :) It seems crazy that the seat belt needs replacing after such a short space of time :? Lets hope that it is not something that you have to replace again.

Update! This is becoming outrageous!

I took my car back in to Toyota yesterday morning. I had a phone call at lunchtime to say that the seat belt they had imported from Belgium was the wrong one! I was also told that they had located another in Lancashire (strangely not available earlier in the week) which would be brought down by courier and fitted today.

Not having heard from them, I rang at 3:15pm. Apparently, the courier turned up at Lancashire garage this morning and was told there was no parcel for him to collect. So he went away. (1) why didn't the courier check with my Toyota dealer and 2) why didn't Toyota Lancashire check?) My dealer hadn't thought to check the whereabouts of the delivery they were expecting until I asked.

After several determined phone calls from OH, our dealer contacted Toyota Central, something which apparently they only do in dire circumstances (e.g. irate customer :? ). A new seat belt is being sent from there to arrive at 3am tomorrow. Our dealer is confident that it will arrive and that it will be the right one. My car should be ready at 12 noon.

If it isn't, our weekend will be spoilt as they can't/won't lend us a big enough car. It is now 8 days since they knew I needed a seat belt and I still haven't got one. I am really not impressed and I always have been with them before. :(

It'll be OH Annie. He is very persistent and good at this sort of thing. He argues with logic and gets people to agree with him along the way, so they then can't disagree. :)

Good news. The garage says the belt has arrived and is now fitted on the car. :D It has to be retested for an MOT and although there is nothing wrong (just the seatbelt last week) I will not feel totally relieved until it's done.

I'm glad it seems to be working out at last, what a palaver. I hate when something that should be straightforward becomes exceedingly complicated especially when a bit of comonsense (like making a phone call to check) would have saved time and agrivation.
