Hi

One of our chickens has peck/ripped off totally the comb of another. Advice needed please.

Ouch, not experienced this but I would bring her in and clean wound, spray with purple spray if you have it and bob on some vet wound powder. If it's bleeding then you can stop it with cornflour.

 

I'd seperate her until it's stopped bleeding and you are able to disguise the wound. It has a good blood supply so should heal fairly quickly but that may cause you problems stopping it bleeding.

 

Then to deal with the pecking problem.................

Ouch . One of my new girls last year had one of the points of her comb pecked off but this sounds worse .

How is she now? there seems to be an awful lot of aggressive pecking going on these days must be something in the air. One of my girls had hers split a little when she was about 5 months but it healed quickly. hope she's ok now.
