Peacocks

[Sheilaz]

There's a lovely man in my garden who says the Cube will fit in the space. He's assembling it amidst jungle, so I feel quite embarrassed at having ordered it first & then measured the space.

Will report back later......

Lucky you Sheila

It will be fantastic

[Guest]

You mean to say that you didn't even have time to hack down the jungle between ordering and the delivery of your cube?

Boy that's a quick service - I hope it is not raining on them too as it is here.

Lots of photos please

Great news Sheila,

Best keep it quiet if it is 'you know who' assembling it! He caused quite a stir with the first wave of Cubes. Some forum members got a little bit carried away mentioning no names!!!! (Only cos I can't remember who they were)

Please post some pics when you get a chance (of your Cube that is! Not your nice man)

I took some pictures of our 'empty garden' as a before and after type thing.

Wait is that a delivery van.......................

Yes!

It's from Asda

COME ON CHICKEN CURRIER.

Keep him talking till I get there!!!!!!!

[Louise]

If its Simon I am on my way

Didn't I read somewhere that 'J' was going to be in the USA this week?

[Sheilaz]

You mean to say that you didn't even have time to hack down the jungle between ordering and the delivery of your cube?

....Lots of photos please

...sorry, photos will have to wait as I need help (in many ways ) and also I shall be Grannying & Cubing the rest of the day!

Of course I left the essential trimmings until the last minute & it has poured here for 2 days, but thankfully fine today. The rest is staying as the last nature reserve in the area.

Anyway, he (?) arrived early (glad I was out of the shower ) and was gone in an hour (no run to assemble.)

2 more Cubes & hens on the way back, so if you're van 3 after St. Albans, he'll be there soon!

There's a lot of noise in the garden from the big ones, and the tinies have Chickenopolis safely to themselves, until tonight. I'm planning to spend ages posting them in the Cube with a selection of the others.

I will post photos sometime but go & enjoy the rest of the week while you wait.

The Cube is brilliant. The space I have in the pen for the Cube isn't ideal, but will have to do. There's still tons of room in there for foraging, but nowhere else to move a Cube.

Tots & Reg are adorable, about 17wks but are tiny. Ahhhhhhh....I'm in love.

Glad it's arrived Sheila

Can't wait to see the pics

[Mrs Frugal]

Congratulations Sheila!! They are fab, aren't they!!

[buffie]

Sheila, I'm really excited for you. Looking forward to the photos and more stories about all your girls.

Where are the pics Sheila...can't wait!

[Sheilaz]

Eventually uploaded, are they too big?

Notice how the ladder at the front, and the back of the Cube, only just fit into the space. Poor Will, it really only just went in the space.

I have now swung it at an angle so the hens would find the ladder, but I need to swing it again to empty trays.

The babies (Tots & Reg) and the previous newbies usually take themselves to bed there now. Sometimes I post one of the others in to get the idea

Bluebelle regularly lays in the Cube. But she's the only one!

[bronze]

They have a lovely area. I may have to do the swinging it to get to the trays if I'm to fit all my various babies in. May show Dh your run to show him how I would like to enclose our area

Its really weird seeing people you 'talk' to all the time in the flesh so to speak

[Sheilaz]

Very weird in some cases! In defence, the van arrived early, my hair was still wet & I hadn't put my lenses in. Not that I minded, it was so exciting.

Er, I'm the one on the right of the photo.

Chickenopolis was probably rather ambitious for us, but strong enough to keep a tiger in, so I'm really pleased..

[Egluntyne]

Er, I'm the one on the right of the photo.

I'm glad you told us that Sheila.........otherwise we would have all been "pm-ing " you with hints about electrolysis!

Fab pictures.

The cube looks great and Chickenopolis looks amazing.

Have you got the recipe handy?

[buffie]

Wow jungle chooks, brilliant Sheila

That looks brilliant Sheila - I'm so glad it all fits in. I was a bit worried that it might not, after seeing your garden............ and i couldn't imagine your OH giving up any more of the garden now he's finished his ponds

That purple looks fantastic
