We were in Birmingham for the national final of the Magistrates Court Mock Trial Competition and they were Runners Up. It is run by the Citizenship Foundation who also run a Bar Mock Trial Competition for older students in years 10 -13. Our school has been involved in that as well although we are at a bit of a disadvantage as we have no sixth form. We did get through to the National Finals of that a couple of years ago as well which was a great achievement and a fantastic experience for the students. I really would recommend any teachers out there to have a look at the web site. If you know anyone who would be willing to offer a few hours mentoring the students as well - either a magistrate or a lawyer - that is invaluable.
