Foxy Loxy
Am slightly paranoid about the chickens in the eglu overnight. I am slightly worried that a fox could figure out how to open the egg port. What do you think?
Guest
I've not heard (I don;t think) of anyone having a fox get in the eggport. Some people place a brick behind the poo tray, just in case, but I can't remember anyone having trouble with the eggport.
Foxy Loxy
I'm not too worried about the poo tray. Some days, I struggle to get it out.
Sheilaz
Although foxes can undo simple catches, I've never heard of an eggport attempt & I'm almost certain it couldn't do it.
Foxy Loxy
The egg port feels loose to me though when it is shut. Because it feels loose, I am worried that a fox might realise this.
beach chick
no, dont worry about the egg port. tho it feels a bit loose (I think because you kind of expect an airplane style airlock?!) you still have to wiggle it about a bit, and dont forget you have opposable thumbs while foxes only have paws!! I seriously dont think they could get in that way.
Lynzoz
Mine is loose too. So I've ordered a new eggport. I've had Children safely catches on mine as I think same. It's so loose. One knock and it could be turned mine. I see what the new one is like. Hopefully it's just the age of the one I've got that makes it loose. I'm sure it's safe. But I also like to know they are completely safe.
