Cube colour & Cube covers - which ?

Recommended Posts

Hello my patient & helpful omleteers !

Well its been a long road taking me through WIRs (to house my small & old wooden house) some of which cannot be delivered to the outback that is Plymouth !!! , then the Framebow, then Flyte so Fancy gorgeous wooden long legged Maggie with run (££££ !) and now the search has reached a natural conclusion at a Cube with extended run !!!

Kicking myself really as I did consider it right at the beginning & then dismissed it due to cost - but everything else is working out really expensive too.

So anyway, desicion made, I am now looking at covers. I would like the cover to be on all the time so wondering if the heavy duty ones will make the run too dark & maybe I should try the new clear one. Any comments ?

PS please don't ask me what colour cube.... yet another decision  I love the green as its natural but also love the funky purple and the red. I think DH will insist on green unless I can provide him with photographic proof that a different colour could look good in the garden...so over to you...........

By the way, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has helped in the decision. You are all very patient & i will happily listen to your 'I told you so' comments.:wink:

From a slightly excited hen keeper !!

I love the blue which is surprisingly subtle in a green garden setting - I am not sure if they still make the blue cubes though as I know the blue Eglu has been discontinued

The purple is nice too though

If I was you I'd get a clear cover that covers all of the top of the run to provide a 'roof' and then a smaller colour shade to go over that to provide the shade for the chooks

Hi, the green colour blends into the garden really well, but..... the purple is fab-u-lous !! Is there anyone in your area with a cube you could visit, it might help with the decision making. Go for (cube purple), i dare you! You could always tell the oh you ordered the purple by mistake by which time he will love it anyway!

I'm a (cube pink) love it to bits. Has lilac, green and of course pink covers (got carried away when they were reduced). It stands out in the garden and still makes me smile 8 months later.

The (cube green) attached to former greenhouse is nice (has orange, green and blue covers) but just doesn't compete (apologies green owners).

Ok so DH loves green and wants to buy on tuesday when he gets back from his walking trip (he's off on a jolly walking Mevagissy to Plymouth via coast path this weekend).

So I think I'll let him pick because he's picking up the tab !!! So show me your green cubes & reassure me that it'll look fab too :?
