My new girls! Cochin growers! with pics.

Recommended Posts

After months of lusting after some big fluffy girls I took the plunge and bought 3 cochin growers! They are 17 weeks but still a lot of growing to do and won't be pol for a while.

A women down the road was selling an almost new !gogreen! so I got it for them. I'm pretty sure they'll out grow it by the time they've finished growing but right now they only take 1/4 of the space in there if they snuggle in.

My dream would be if they eventually got on with my bantams and I could bung them all in a (cube purple) but there's no rush and I could always keep them separate if need be. I've had them 2 weeks today so let them out to fr with my little ones. It went pretty well actually, I have one narky pekin who chased them around a bit but as they are at least twice as tall they could stand their own and run faster

I've gone for old lady names this time. The blue is called Agatha, the cuckoo is called Dot and the frizzle cuckoo is Flo.

I've been feeding them growers pellets but have run out now, would you guys stick to this or would they be ok on layers pellets? :eh:

I hope you love them :D No idea why the pic of Flo is so tiny :eh:

thanks :D

Yeah she does look a bit poorly in that pic but it was the only one she stayed still for  Her tail is normally pointed up but she always looks a bit hunched but it's her feathers iykwim cos she has loads round her shoulders. Thanks though I will keep an eye on her. I've just got in from work and had a cuppa with them while they fr ed with my little ones. They are so friendly already and followed me up to the house  I think they were a bit put out when I shut the door on them.

I am a sucker for hairy toes, ask my husband

Would you recommend I stick to growers pellets or will they be ok with layers pellets? The breeder said they'll be fine on layers now but wanted a second opinion.
