I was out with my friend when I received a call from my son telling me we had a dead chicken and a mauled Tortoise. I rushed home and arrived as my son got back from the vet with arthur the tortoise. He had come home to find the French door open and having found the dead and mauled called me. The vet confirmed Arthur had been mauled by a fox and suggested that the only reason we has lost one chicken and not more was because my dog had barged the door open and protected them....
