Tutti Frutti
We went to Bray Lock yesterday to cheer him on on his 140 miles Thames Swim for Sport Relief. Honestly, I don't know if he's mad or pure genius but he has a generous, compassionate heart and I for one think a fiver was worth it! I wouldn't want to walk 140 miles in 8 days, let alone swim it! I know I'd struggle to swim the width of the Thames let alone the length. And tomorrow, he hits the tidal section with all that that entails (traffic, currents, tides and... sewage ). He's tiring and in pain today so I hope he's OK for the final leg to Big Ben for tomorrow evening. And he's raised £812,346 already!!! What a guy, a hero and a national treasure
snowberry
He's incredible! It'll take him a long time to recover from this one
Willow
I walked down to see him Fri as he swam through our village.Nearly missed him, I'd noted where he was on the map and knew how long that takes a friend who swims in the river so made sure I grabbed my kindle to pass the wait time and he'd just gone swum past so I didn't see him swim down towards me but was able to watch as he swam on. I was amazed how fast he was going. Absolute amazing feat I'm hoping he makes the £1m mark I've just done my sponsorship
Tutti Frutti
I just couldn't believe the pace he was swimming at, like a machine! 12 HOURS yesterday and it looks like being longer today - set off 6:25am and may not finish 'til 8pm. Blimey I texted a fiver yesterday. May have to top up and text again!!! I so. so hope he's OK tomorrow. Makes me emotional thinking about it. Any rich person would just donate cash. He donates his time, energy, and a shedload of pain to raise the profile of Sport Relief. He deserves a gong IMHO. He said someone asked him after his channel swim "will you climb Everest" and he just replied, "Give me a day to sit down" classic
Tutti Frutti
David @Bray Lock yesterday - we could hear the crowd cheering him on LONG before we saw him! He skipped out of the river one side of the lock like he'd just had a paddle before jumping straight back on the other side. Superstar! Hope this works - you may have to tilt your head round, sorry Yep, that's him between the two kayaks in the foreground. We were on a footpath slapbang next to the M4 I'm glued to Twitter today following his progress with #thamesswim

Griffin
I was so annoyed with myself for not hearing about this until about an hour after he'd passed by us on Monday We would've gone down to cheer him on. I've been following his progress on the map on the Sport Relief page Donated a fiver earlier in the week, I'd really really love to see it reach one million by the time he finishes. They were hoping for tomorrow afternoon but I reckon it'll be tomorrow evening. He's amazing. I hope old Queenie is watching and remembers his Knighthood in her New Years Honours list
Tutti Frutti
Phew, he's made it to Teddington Lock and end of day 7... 13 hours and 15 mins after setting off this morning! And he was tired 3 hours ago, I was willing him to finish! I think he needs some Omlet power for tomorrow's last day slog to Big Ben!
Janepie33
Have just watched the wonderful David Walliams climbing out of the Thames at Teddington Lock after another 20 mile swim down the Thames. He really is quite amazing. He was obviously completely exhausted, but still managed waves and smiles for the crowds. If you haven't sponsored David for Sports Relief yet, there is still time........ He's tryng to reach the £1000000 mark. http://www.sportrelief.com/whats-on/the-bt-sport-relief-challenges-walliams-vs-the-thames

Tutti Frutti
He was a star on the One Show! "It's only swimming, just putting one arm in front of the other"... I think he's way too modest about it. It must have been mental torture... and physical torture too
