Paypal - a warning

Recommended Posts

I'd only been catching up with this thread yesterday after a few forum free days and it seemed such a coicidence that I received this spoof email today.

PayPal Resolution Center: Your account is limited.

(Your case ID for this reason is PP-0064310.)

PayPal is constantly working to ensure security by regularly screening the

accounts in our system. We recently reviewed your account, and we

need more information to help us provide you with secure service. Until we

can collect this information, your access to sensitive account

features will be limited. We would like to restore your access as soon as

possible, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

This is done for your protection only you, the recipient of this email can

take the next step in the remove limitation process.

Why is my account access limited?

June 21, 2007: We have reason to believe that your account was accessed by a

third party. Because protecting the security of your account

is our primary concern, we have limited access to sensitive PayPal account

features. We understand that this may be an inconvenience but

please understand that this temporary limitation is for your protection.

(Your case ID for this reason is PP-0064310.)

How can I restore my account access?

Please scan the following documents, attach them to your email and forward

them to security@paypalfraudchecking.com

- Your credit/debit card statement or utility bill ( example: Phone Bill, Electric Bill, etc....)

- A valid photo ID (example: Passport, Drivers License, etc...)

Completing all of the checklist items will automatically restore your account

access.

Thank you for using PayPal!

Cheeky so & so's want all kinds of id sending to them as well

I know it's got to be a spoof, even without reading all your wonderful advice, because I don't even have a paypal account :lol::lol::lol:

It could sound a bit worrying though to someone a little gullible, I do hope that no one falls for it.

Edit, I just saw my posting on the forum and their case id codes (which I didn't bother editing, it's all bogus anyway, started with the letters P and P........... the very sensible forum read that and substituted a lovely PP instead :D:D:D

Gosh thats a really blatant attempt - hope no-one gets pulled in by it. Worth sending it to Paypal (via the genuine site's contact us page) so they can add it to the ones they are investigating - its to all our benefit that these things get investigated and stopped.
