Peacocks

[Snowy]

I spotted a nice red eglu for my pekin girls on ebay last week. Buy It Now - very reasonable price. But the other side of London, a good 3 - 4 hours drive and no time in the near future to do it. But I have a step brother who lives only 15 miles away, and he is often visited by my Dad and Step Mum.

So I took a chance and hit Buy It Now.

Next job was to ask when the parents were due to visit again and to find out if the seller was happy to keep it for me until collection could be arranged.

Well, it's been a nail biting week, but my lovely Dad has just rung to say it is now in the back of his car

Part 1 of the eglu train is complete, I just need to collect it from him tomorrow.

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?

Brilliant! And a nice Christmassy colour for them too. Well done!

[Snowy]

Hurray! Dad delivered my eglu today and helped me set it up - bless him! It's much 'redder' than I expected, and in lovely condition

Put the pekins into their new home. I don't think they have the hang of it yet - they are used to cuddling up on the floor of their little wooden hutch, so I thought they would appreciate being able to spread out on the roosting bars. No chance - they are doing a chicken pyramid in the nest box

It's good to have a Classic Eglu again - I really missed that shape

And how could I resist the funshade sale - matching shades for eglu and cube ordered.

[Olly]

How lovely! Glad it all worked out for you.

What a fab outcome .

I trust photos are on their way ?

[Snowy]

Ah yes, pics - was getting a bit dark by the time we'd finished, as soon as we get some daylight, don't worry, the camera will be out. Need some new ones of Mimi, Lulu and Ping now they are nearly big girlies as well

Well done Snowy, glad to read that the pekins now have a lovely new home.

Looking forward to seeing some pictures. I prefer my eglu to the cube but I can fit more in the cube

It is lovely to have an eglu again - I love the cube, but the eglu takes me back to that very first excitement I had with my first eglu and hens

Well done

Thats some planning!

Thanks Snowy, the pictures are lovely.

I like my cube but there is something very special about the eglu it is in a differnt class in my opinion but I know there are lots of omleteers who prefer their cubes.

I have an empty eglu at the moment so will have to do some thinking over the winter as to what I should put in there
