Does anyone know where i'd get statistics on the growth in chicken keeping over the last few years ? Needed urgently for a childs school assignment

Might be worth emailing Omlet themselves - I would think their sales figures would give a good indicator of the overall trend! Also try ringing some of the suppliers for a verbal 'quote' on whether or not their sales have increased recently.

And click on the 'members' button of the forum - you may be able to extrapolate some information based on number of members joining each year.

Perhaps the mods can tell you how many people on the forum in 2007 compared with now would be an indicator.

and in 2008 I had 3 and in 2011 6 so you could say its doubled
