Cheeky Chooky
Does anyone know of any Bantam Frizzle Breeders in the Northamptonshire/Bedfordshire/Buckinghamshire areas?
Tweety
I have checked in my Frizzle Society Yearbook, and there is no-one in the breeder's directory in those areas. Pure breed Frizzles are hard to find - I bought some hatching eggs off eBay and hatched my own in the end! Great Oak Poultry 01296681180 are listed in Practical Poultry breeder's directory as selling Frizzles on the Beds/Bucks border, but it's not clear if those are pure breed or Frizzled Pekins. Griffin
Hob"Ooops, word censored!", my avatar, came from Birdhaus near Brackley.
Cheeky Chooky
Thanks Tweety Are there many Frizzle Breeders at all in your Frizzle Society Yearbook? Could you tell me which Counties they can be found in? Griffin Hob"Ooops, word censored!" looks so cute ...but is Hob"Ooops, word censored!" a Frizzle Pekin? I only ask because the feet look feathered? It's a bit hard to tell from the Avatar pic
Tweety
Hi, there are 3 in Cumbria, 1 on the IOW, 1 in Lancaster, 1 in Ashford, Kent , 1 in Huddersfield and 1 in Exeter. Let me know if you need any further details.
Cheeky Chooky
Thank you so much for looking for me Few and far between aren't they and all quite a long way from me Ashford is the nearest at just over 2 hours away. Could you let me have some more details of that Breeder please? Still also hoping there might be other forum members who come across this thread that might know of someone who perhaps isn't a registered Breeder? Redwing
There must be a breeder near us somewhere as someone on the forum bought some a while back, I rehomed them for her as she was allergic to them so regrettably she isnt a member anymore and I dont have her number anymore I do remember that she didnt travel far for them So many people's Frizzles arent the real deal and lots have feathery feet sadly. real pure breed Frizzles are hard to find Just wish I knew where that breeder is! Chortle Chook
I will PM you of two people who very near Henley which is not so far from a corner of Bucks. I have Frizzles from both (they are true breed frizzles rather than Pekin or Silkie or Poland frizzles - though I think they may have these too). They don't have a huge stock as they breed for showing but seeing as the National is just over they might have the odd POL girly available. These girlies came from Diane. Do let me know if you get any from them. Both Jenny and Diane are such nice people.
Chortle Chook
Just wanted to add a word of encouragement as Frizzles are such lovely, no trouble ladies. They are my real favourite breed. They talk lots, are really tame and friendly and don't even scratch much in the garden - real all round perfect girls Oh, and I love thier little dumpy bodies too. Griffin
She's such a sweet little girl, I rehomed the majority of my bantams but I couldn't bear to part with her. She minds her own business and is no trouble at all. She decided to lay just one egg this year though, so alongside my only other remaining bantam, a Poland called Olive, is just an ornament Olive has never laid an egg in her life
Chortle Chook
Your avatar of 'Hob"Ooops, word censored!"', Griffin, is what first made me want Frizzles Olive sounds like my Dotty who is also a Poland - I'd say she is 'too posh to push' except that she certainly ain't posh from the noises she makes. A right old gossip she is

Cheeky Chooky
Sure is! The WIR should be here at lunch time, fingers crossed! The lovely Caretaker where I work filled 3 black sacks full of leaves this afternoon for me to scatter in there for the girls to rootle in as well They're gonna love it! And yes, only 3 more sleeps until my little Frizzle poppets arrive too

Griffin
I felt inspired by this thread. Tiger has gone broody so I've got her some bantam Frizzle eggs It's a silly time to be hatching but she's my best broody, in brilliant condition, and she thinks she knows best. They arrived yesterday, are going under her tomorrow and they'll be due on Christmas Day I can't think of anything Tiger would like more for Christmas
