tracyann Posted November 28, 2011 Share Posted November 28, 2011 Watch out for the new Bupa advert which will be aired after Christmas, it features animated chickens, ducks, geese and rabbits and is "Charlies Story", Charlie happens to be my Dad, he was picked out of lots of different residents in the nursing home where he is as he has an interesting story and poultry have featured throughout his life. (My dad is in a BUPA nursing home too - just as well they didn't ask his life story 'cos he comes out with some cracking stuff - total nonsense 9 times out of 10 ). Ain't Nobody Here Posted November 28, 2011 Share Posted November 28, 2011 It's actually quite nice - he doesn't realise he's in a home, sitting day after day doing nothing . Last week he was giving a lecture on politics (that would never have happened even when younger!) and a while ago he thought he was a policeman when he was younger. He often "drives his car" too. (He was 91 last Saturday .) He often moans about being busy doing various jobs . Amazingly though, when I was reading aloud to him from a book about his uncle, he immediately came out with the names of his cousins, Joy and Diana, who he probably hasn't seen since he was a child!
